Test foods one at a time
Choose foods that this resident has not eaten yet. Check the tried marker at the bottom of the food list so you do not spend your testing window repeating the same meals.
Miis become full. Refusing more food because they are full does not mean they hate the item you selected.
Wait for the final reaction text
Let the reaction finish before deciding what it means.
| Result | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| “They loved it!” | A positive result, not necessarily their highest favorite |
| UK: “Goodness gracious me! That’s his all-time favourite!” | The all-time-favorite result; the pronoun can vary |
| US wording includes “loved it more than anything else in the world” | The highest favorite result |
| US wording includes “absolutely loved it” | A lower tier than the highest favorite |
Do not copy another player’s favorite menu and expect it to work for your resident. Test each Mii separately; personality and birthday do not give you a fixed answer.
Use Big Eater to extend a testing session
The Big Eater Little Quirk delays a resident becoming full, allowing more foods to be tested in one session. Obtain it through Wishing Fountain progression.
It improves testing efficiency. It does not change the resident’s taste or make the next food a guaranteed favorite.
Keep the routine simple
Buy unfamiliar foods, test them with the resident you care about and use their tried markers to guide the next visit. Save the highest-favorite label only for the matching final result.
