Open Relationship Rankings
Press Y while interacting with a Mii, or select the resident through Residents, then open Relationship Rankings.
Check the pair from both residents’ profiles. A high opinion in one direction does not mean the other Mii has the same level.

Strangers do not have a relationship level. After meeting, they become acquaintances. A seventh-level label in one category is not the same relationship as a seventh-level label in another.
Help a relationship develop
Put residents near each other, help with their requests and respond to arguments. Changes can also happen while you are away.
Orange and pink thought bubbles help you spot social and romantic requests; do not use the old game’s green-to-purple ranking tutorial for this system.
Real-world family or partner settings do not turn two strangers into in-game sweethearts. They still need to meet and develop the relationship.
