How to Delete a Mii in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

At a glance

Press X → Residents, select the Mii, then choose Remove Mii. Check the fee and confirmation before selecting Remove. Deleting a resident removes their personal progress and relationships; recreating their face does not restore them.

Remove one resident

  1. Press X in the game.
  2. Open Residents and select the Mii you want to remove.
  3. Choose Remove Mii.
  4. Read the fee and the effects shown in the confirmation.
  5. Choose Remove only when you are ready.

You can cancel before the final confirmation. The option becomes available after early progression, and you cannot remove the island’s last Mii.

Delete Save Data in the console settings is a different operation: it removes that user’s entire island.

The deletion fee

Removal costs in-game money. Regional examples are $33 in the US, ¥3,300 in Japan and €33 in Europe; use the amount shown in your confirmation screen.

This is not a real-money payment.

What is lost

You cannot undo the removal in the game. The resident’s levels and personal items are lost, and gifts are not refunded. News featuring that Mii may also be removed, including locked news.

The deleted resident’s friends and partner lose their association with them. Creating another Mii with the same appearance starts a new resident: it does not recover the old levels, friendships or romance.

If you only want a new appearance

Use Mii customization to change an existing resident rather than removing them. Be careful with dating preferences and other relationship-eligibility settings, because those edits can clear romantic relationships.

To start a completely new island, use the separate reset guide.
