The 3DS game’s 100-resident limit does not apply to Living the Dream.
Each console user has their own save and island. Count residents on the island belonging to the user you are playing.
Make room before receiving a Mii
A Mii received through Local Play needs a resident slot and a home on your island. After the exchange ends, follow the game’s house-building prompt.
Check Residents before planning an exchange. If your island already has 70 residents, make a decision about capacity first rather than expecting an extra slot.
Plan for a growing family
The baby guide explains how keeping a child works when space is tight. Sharing a home does not increase the island’s total resident limit.
